A tale of travelling with the Dark Goddess – Coming Home!

Once upon a time there was a foreign girl that moved to Wales to follow her heart and her Prince. She and the Prince had been travelling the world together for many years, never settling, always seeking, working hard, following the rules, doing right, doing good, fighting the battle for The Light.

Then came the time when they decided to find a real home for themselves and their offspring. Neither of them was getting any younger, some people – very brave people – would say, and it was time to put down some roots. Since neither had any ties to a particular place in the realm of the Lion they concluded that they could choose freely. They wanted to be by the sea but they also wanted to see hills and mountains; they needed to be close enough to so called civilizations and yet – also close to the wild land and the forests. Did such a place even exist in this realm? They were unsure but hopeful.

They visited first a place far in the North of the Land. It was pretty, ticked most of the boxes but the Prince knew his consort would be unhappy in the perpetual cold of the Winters up there. So they looked a little more South – but the Prince was  a good and honest man so he never managed to amass the fortune it would take to buy even the smallest dwelling there.

Then he heard about the mythical land of the Dragons, a deep and sometimes dark place beyond the realm of the Lion and the Rose, a foreign and alien place with a strange tongue, strange food and even stranger inhabitants: they sang a lot apparently, and enjoyed doing so. It seemed very odd to the Prince but they also played his favourite sport – the oval ball game. How bad could they truly be if they loved what he loved?

He was scared to leave his trusted beloved land, and oddly fearful, but hadn’t the girl given up her home for him, uprooting herself and leaving behind everything she had known to be with him? Maybe this foreign, a little dangerous sounding place was just the new home they both needed.

The day dawned when the exploration trip to the wild land was planned. They had to cross a large expanse of water spanned by a magificent bridge. The toll to enter this strange yet beautiful place was steep, but as soon as they arrived on the other side of the bridge they felt the magic of the place. Truly, the dragon energy was strong here, the strongest they had ever felt it before. It felt old, ancient even, and yet: welcoming. As if the magic in the land could feel the magic in the girl and connected with it. Here they were and here they would stay: Cymru – wlad o’r dreigiau!
